     peck 001Loretta E. Peck, 93, a resident of Scriba, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Crouse Hospital, in Syracuse.

     Born in Scriba, she was a daughter of the late William and Flossie (Quonce) Donahue. She was a graduate of the Oswego High School and the Oswego Normal School (State University at Oswego).
     She taught for many years, first in one-room schoolhouses and later retired from the Mexico Academy Central Schools.
     Loretta was a long time member of the Lycoming United Methodist Church, the Goldfinch Chapter of the Home Bureau, Scriba Historical Society, Order of the Eastern Star and the Oswego County Retired Teacher's Association.
     Loretta loved life, her family and friends, traveling and her home.
     Surviving are her daughter, Sally (Ed Salerno) Palmer, of Cazenovia; her son, Douglas (Elaine) Peck, of Annapolis, Md.; five grandchildren, Timothy Palmer, Matthew Palmer, Patrick Peck, Christopher Peck and Tracey Patterson; 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
     She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Peck, in 1978.
     The family would like to thank the Knoles of Seneca Hill and Crouse Hospital, Four North Irving for there wonderful care.
     Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 21, from the Lycoming United Methodist Church.
     Burial will be in North Scriba Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Lycoming United Methodist Church.
     Friends may call call from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, at the Dowdle Funeral Home, 154 E. Fourth St., Oswego.
     In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lycoming United Methodist Church.
