The Oswego Fire Department recently received a donation of 200 smoke alarms from Lowe's to support the residential fire safety program.
Properly installed smoke alarms have proven to save lives. Oswego Fire Chief Jeff McCrobie said, "On behalf of the Oswego Fire Department, I want to thank Lowe's for supporting our efforts and ensuring familes are better protected with working smoke alarms."
Through grants and these local donations, the Oswego Fire Department is able to install new smoke alarms in homes, keeping families better protected from injury in case of a fire. Properly installed smoke alarms give people the best chance of escaping a fire because of early notification. Smoke alarms should be installed inside of every bedroom, outside of every sleeping area, and on every level of the home.
Residents in need of smoke alarms can call the Oswego Fire Department headquarters at (315) 343-2161 to make an appointment. Firefighters will visit your home, install new smoke alarms, and check for fire hazards.
Stay Safe Oswego!
