Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County (LVOC) is proud to announce that its latest tutor classes graduated May 6 and some have already started tutoring Oswego County adults.

BLL Spring 2013 Class LVOC tutors complete an orientation and nine hours of training which includes how to teach adults basic literacy skills. Tutors of English Language Learners completed an additional six hours of training. As certified tutors, they are matched with adults who require their services. They meet weekly with their learner at an approved public tutor site at a mutually convenient time.

Tutor instruction includes basic literacy or English language with materials and assistance provided to them by the LVOC office.

For the fall 2013 tutor training schedule or for more information on LVOC and its services, you may call the office at 342-8839; email: lvoswego@oco.org; or visit our facebook page or website at www.lvoswego.org.
