Hello Dear Readers, My name is Maddie. I am an Alpaca and I want to welcome you to Maddie’s Musings.
I hope to write to you on a regular basis and I hope you enjoy hearing stories and news about all that goes on around my home, Seven Acres Alpaca Farm.
First let me introduce myself. I am a beautiful chestnut brown alpaca that lives on Seven Acres Alpaca Farm on Dinglehole Road, in Phoenix, NY. Now before you turn the page laughing, Dinglehole Road is very famous in these parts. And I will tell you all about it in a minute or two. Hee, hee, hee.
First more about me. Before I write another word, please understand that I am NOT a Llama. Llamas and Camels are my distant cousins, both of whom SPIT! Alpacas, like me, are sweet and tender and only get upset occasionally with one another. OK, we may let out a sprinkle or two then, but we seldom spit like our cousins. Hee, hee, hee.
Another thing you must know about alpacas is that we cannot live alone. That’s right, we are herd animals and must have at least one or two companions to stay healthy and happy. I am very lucky as I have 23 wondie friends to enjoy here on the farm.
Now I must mention that Billy and Paulie are our owners, and they take care of all of us here on the farm. Well, let’s say that Billy does most of the work and Paulie…well, let me put it this way. We call him “the other one.” Get the picture? Hee, hee, hee.
Now. Let’s see, what else do I need to share right now. Oh, yes, more about me. Hee, hee, hee. I am kind of the lead alpaca around the farm. That means, I don’t miss much, enjoy being in charge most of the time, and am the prettiest. Hee, hee, hee. I love writing about all the adventures that go on around here day-to-day and will be sharing some of those stories now and then right here on these pages. I hope you enjoy reading them. Until then, stay warm and dry. Hee, hee, hee.
