The H. Lee White Marine Museum and Maritime Center is partnering with the Department of Technology at SUNY Oswego and Raby's ACE Home Center to offer a Boat Building Weekend here in Oswego's "Historic Maritime District."

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 28-30, you and your family can join in an instructional, hands-on program that culminates in a completed boat for your family's use.

This is the museum's seventh year offering this unique opportunity and there are three styles of boats to choose from. All materials are provided, but a limited number of kits are available.

Compared to other boat building programs in the Northeast, this workshop is made more affordable thanks to the generous support of Raby's ACE Home Center.

At least one responsible adult, parent or guardian over the age of 18 years, must be included in each family or group and there is an age minimum of 9 years old for the children due to the skills needed to complete the project. Groups of at least two are requested.

You must register as soon as possible and pre-payment is required. Space is limited, so participation will be on a first registered and paid basis.

Contact the H. Lee White Marine Museum at 342-0480 or info@hleewhitemarinemuseum.com for more information. Or visit hleewhitemarinemuseum.com or facebook.com/hlwmm for more programming information.
