Write a commentMary F. Stone, 100, a life resident of Oswego, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Seneca Hill Manor.
Mary was born in Oswego on September 28, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Matthew and Irene (Rogers) Zobeck.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as secretary for the office of the Oswego County District Attorney.
She was very active as a member of the Oswego Hospital Auxiliary, and was a long-time member of Faith United Church in Oswego.
She was the wife of the late Thomas M. Stone, who died in 1988.
Mary is survived by her son, Raymond, and his wife Jobeth Stone; five grandchildren, Timothy Stone, Aaron Stone, Keryn Stone, Thomas Stone, and Courtney Washburn; three great-grandchildren, Henley Stone, Madeline Younie, and Amelia Younie; a sister, Elizabeth Brown of Oregon; and her very close friends, Barbara and Robert Sugar of Oswego.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Richard Stone; and her close companion of 15 years, Merrill Young, who died in 2015.
The family sends a very special thanks to Cindy and Mary, her caregivers in the last years of her life.
Calling hours will be held from 11:00 to 1:00 Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 Wednesday, following the calling hours.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
