The Art Association of Oswego (AAO) announces the opening of a new show at the Oswego Civic Arts Center, Friday, May 3.
Making Good: Monotypes and Monoprints is an exhibition of artwork featuring one-of-a-kind prints. This exhibit will be on display until Sunday, May 12.
This is another installment in the Making Good series, which annually features the work of area college students. The show will open with a reception from 6-9 p.m., Friday, May 3. The reception is free and open to the public.
This show is one of seven art shows that are a part of the May 3 Oswego County Gallery Hop. See our website at www.oswegoarts.org for more details.
The exhibition will be held Oswego Civic Arts Center, located at the northernmost end of East Fourth Street in Oswego, directly across from Fort Ontario.
Regular gallery hours are from 2-5 pm on weekends or by appointment. Group tours are encouraged.
The Art Association of Oswego is again this year coordinating a Spring Gallery Hop. There are seven participating venues for the 2013 Hop. Community members and local students are encouraged to "gallery-hop" Friday, May 3, and see as many art shows as possible.
Gallery hopping guides and passports will be available at each location, so viewers can start anywhere. Passports that have been stamped at five or more locations can be placed in a drawing for prizes, and students may be able to get extra credit as well. Check to see if your art teacher is participating.
In order to be eligible for the prize drawing, passports stamped with at least five locations must be placed in the Big Blue Box at the Art Association of Oswego by 5 p.m., Sunday, May 5.
For a list of participating venues and times, go to www.oswegoarts.org.
