City of Oswego Mayor William Barlow visited St. Francis Commons Assisted Living Residence and presented residents with a Proclamation declaring Assisted Living Week.

After presenting the City Proclamation to resident council president Helen Yonkers, Mayor Barlow spent time with a large group of residents discussing topics ranging from City government to answering questions from residents wondering what motivated him to get involved in politics and to seek the office of Mayor.

“On behalf of our residence, we thank Mayor Barlow for his visit and Proclamation recognizing Assisted Living Week here in Oswego,” said Director Julie Chetney. “Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to speak with the Mayor and exchange ideas, and even a few personal stories were shared. The Proclamation recognizes that the care and services provided by places like St. Francis Commons continue to be important as we help keep those who grew up here and build this City, an active part of our community.”
