Write a commentMichael J. Murray, 60, a resident of 145 Arcadia Avenue, Oswego, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Oswego Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Murray was born in Oswego, a son of the late Thomas E. and Shirley (Cuyler) Murray.
He was a life resident of Oswego, attended Oswego schools and was employed by the city of Oswego for 27 years as an operator at the Eastside Water Filtration Facility until his retirement in 2002.
Known for his generosity and fun-loving spirit, he will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and acquaintances.
He is survived by his brother, Thomas E. (Dee Dee) Murray Jr. and his long-time love, Renee Pelkey, both of Oswego; siblings, William Murray and Jerri Haley, of Texas, and Kathy (Dan) Barr of Colorado; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Murray was pre-deceased by his step-mother, Barbara (McLymond) Murray.
Services are private.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
