The unofficial start to the 2016 Oswego Speedway racing season is set for March 12-13 with the 30th annual Motorsports Expo at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY.

Oswego Speedway will once again feature a multi-car display at the Expo, highlighting both the Novelis Supermodified and Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super divisions.

The highlighted racer in this year’s display will be the beautiful Michael Muldoon Novelis Supermodified, driven to two main event victories at Oswego last season.

The son of Speedway track champion and Classic winner Mike Muldoon, Michael earned his first career Oswego victory in June of last year and backed it up with his second career victory as a part of the Speedway’s 65th anniversary celebration in August.

On top of his main event wins, Muldoon notched four heat race victories and a total of five top ten finishes.

Muldoon is locked and loaded for another full on assault at Oswego in 2016 as his team is preparing two machines for the year, including one brand new roadster.

Three Pathfinder Bank Small Block Supers are expected to be at this year’s Expo, including the CR2 Motorsports/Kreig Heroth Racing No. 04 machine driven by 2012 Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super track champion, Kreig Heroth.

Heroth drove to seventh in last year’s SBS driver standings with four top five finishes, while also earning a starting position in his first Budweiser International Classic 200 for Novelis Supermodifieds driving the Mike Barbera No. 45 Super.

Joining the Heroth machine will be the Team Tapout racers of Barry Kingsley and Jason Simmons.

Driving the No. 91, Kingsley finished 12th in the driver standings in 2015 with a heat race win and three top five finishes. A former winner of the Mr. Pathfinder Bank SBS crown, Kingsley is also set to attend the Finger Lakes Speed World show March 19-20 at the Finger Lakes Mall in Auburn.

Team Tapout team owner Simmons took 10th in the driver’s championship one year ago, winning two qualifying heats and garnering three top five finishes. A previous winner of the prestigious Tony White Memorial, Simmons is expected to be a part-time competitors at Oswego in 2016.

One of the more popular things to do at the Motorsports Expo each season is to collect one of the many racing schedules available for the coming year, and the Speedway booth will once again have schedule cards prepared for both the Speedway and Oswego Kartway.

A handful of Oswego Kartway racers are also expected to be in attendance at the Speedway booth to help promote their upcoming season, which also begins in May.

A special novelty sales blowout will also be featured at the Speedway booth during the Motorsports Expo with select hoodies available for $10 and select t-shirts available for $5. Several sizes and varieties of prints are available. Keep an eye on the Speedway’s social media accounts throughout the show for even further discount pricing.

Thomas Racing Videos will also be on hand with Speedway DVDs ready for purchase.
