Midtown Plaza planned for complete demolition in time for Harborfest. Sutton Real Estate made the requisition final in March 2015.

Built as part of Urban Renewal in early 1960's, the Midtown Plaza was a premier shopping spot for many businesses such as Montgomery Ward, Campbell's Department store and Fay Drugs. Many folks have considered the plaza a sad reminder of city changes gone wrong.

Demolition for the plaza began Monday the 18th and will continue over the next 8 weeks. When completed, there will be thirty reserved short-term parking spaces available to the general public.

iHeart Oswego checked in with the retail operations currently running in the plaza. All report that they will be open for regular business hours throughout the demolition period.
