Miriam "Mimi" J. Lavery, 76, a resident of county Route 29, Scriba, passed away May 8, 2013 at University Hospital, Syracuse, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Allen) Galloway.
She attended St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Utica.
Mimi enjoyed gardening, golfing and spending time at her camp at Sandy Pond and her winters in Ft. Myers Beach. She loved spending time and hosting parties for her family for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year Eve.
Surviving are her husband of 57 years, David J. "Bucky" Lavery Jr.; a daughter, Denise (Charlie) O'Connor, of Oswego; three sons, Jeffrey (Brenda) Lavery; Patrick (Kelly Elan) Lavery and Michael (Rebecca) Lavery, all of Scriba; a sister, Theresa (Terry) Cary, of New Haven; eleven grandchildren, David (Erin Nalle) O'Connor, Erin (Brandon) Goldman O'Connor, Greg Lavery, Kristina Lavery, Timothy O'Connor, Bryan Lavery, Daniel Lavery, Kevin O'Connor, Alayna Lavery, Julia Lavery and Michele Lavery; four great-grandchildren, Ella O'Connor, Owen Goldman, Callen O'Connor and Catherine Goldman.
She was predeceased by a son, David J. Lavery III, in 1958.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, from St. Paul's Church.
Burial will follow the funeral services at St. Peter's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 3-7 p.m. Monday, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
