Write a commentMother Earth Baby will be host to the Oswego/CNY/NNY site of an international cloth diaper changing event taking place on Saturday, April 18, 2015, the same week as Earth Day. This is the 5th Anniversary of our popular international event. There are currently 210 sites in 15 countries, The Great Cloth Diaper Change event will attempt to break last year's Guinness World Record™ of 8,459 babies changed at one time around the world.
Each year billions of disposable diapers enter landfills where it takes hundreds of years for them to decompose, if ever. In five successful years of the Great Cloth Diaper Change event, participants have shown the entire world that cloth diapers are a real option for today's modern families, particularly catching the eye of expecting and new parents who may be seeking more planet-friendly and affordable alternatives to disposable diapers.
In 2014, Oswego had 80 babies participate (over 500 in attendance) making the site the 12th largest out of 266 sites worldwide. In 2015, the Oswego site is the only site in Central/ Northern NY and the goal is to have over 90 babies participate, making the Oswego/CNY/NNY a "top ten" site worldwide. The event will take place starting at 10:00am at Elim Grace Church, located at 304 West First Street, Oswego NY. In addition to the Great Cloth Diaper Change world-recording setting activity, there will also be 3rd Annual Healthy Baby Expo featuring over 50 vendors, entertainment, workshops, giveaways and food, focused on new and expecting parents and their families.
