Volunteers are a vital part of a successful Harborfest. Each year, dozens of dedicated volunteers come together in various positions to ensure that the festival runs smoothly. To show their gratitude for these incredible people, Harborfest is announcing a bike giveaway for volunteers this upcoming festival.

For every shift worked, a volunteer will receive one chance to win the bike. The more shifts worked, the more times they will be entered. The bike has been generously provided for Harborfest by Greg Mills of Murdock’s Bicycles and Sports.

Volunteer Coordinator Nick Little commented, “To celebrate 30 years of Harborfest success, there will be a volunteer training session complete with a picnic on July 18th at 5pm right at the McCrobie building. Volunteers are the foundation of the entire event and without their help the events could not happen. We are always looking for more volunteers and they can easily sign up by visiting our website. Thank you to all who have continued to volunteer and welcome aboard to the new volunteers! Let's make this the best year yet! “

Prospective volunteers can apply for a varied selection of positions including set up and take down, artist help, office help, information aides, park management, park crew, parking attendant, and more. There is even a floater position for those who prefer to do a little bit of everything.

Volunteer applications are still being accepted on an ongoing basis, and can be found on the Harborfest website. There is an online application for those who prefer not to fill out a paper one.

Harborfest is one of the few admission-free music festivals in the country. It was founded with the mission of creating nationally recognized festivals and events that attract and engage a broad and diverse audience, celebrate and build community, and advance economic development in Oswego, New York. It would not be possible to continue the event without the massive continued support received from the City of Oswego, businesses, organizations, government entities, and individuals and family members.
