Leighton Elementary School participated in National Red Nose Day on May 26th. Both students and teachers posed in their red noses for pictures and donated money to the cause.

Leighton school raised over $200 dollars on their first celebration of National Red Nose Day.

National Red Nose Day is celebrated by a two hour live comedy on NBC because red noses symbolize comedy and has raised and distributed over “one BILLION dollars” as Austin Powers would say it! The Red Nose Day Fund along with their partner WALGREENS, distributes money for children via services both nationally and globally. Practical needs such as a kids meal at homeless shelters, antibiotics for kids with pneumonia, an eye exam and glasses for a child in need, among others. .It is the mission Red Nose Day Fund to support positive change through entertainment.

Red Nose Day is a program through Comic Relief Inc. For more information about giving or the fund itself, visit RedNoseDay.org.
