Employees and management of the westside NBT Bank in Oswego are working with the community to replenish the shelves at the Human Concerns Center heading into a busy holiday season.
A collection table has been set up in the westside location’s lobby for non-perishable food items now through the end of November. The bank encourages community members to bring their donations to the branch and help build up a healthy collection before being delivered to the center. Donors do not need to be a customer of NBT Bank to participate.
NBT Branch Manager Laura Denny (Oswego-West) and team members wanted to find a way to give back to the community. “I had the pleasure of meeting JoAnn Locy, pantry director of the Human Concerns Center, while working United Way of Oswego County’s Stone Soup Luncheon,” said Denny. “Through our conversation, I learned how the center has seen a sharp increase for food requests recently, and we knew this would be a great collaboration,” added Denny.
“We are very humbled by the tremendous support we receive from the community throughout the year and are thrilled to add NBT Bank to that list of supporters,” said Locy. “NBT Bank has a great start to their collection, which will help our families throughout and after the holiday season”, added Locy.
Donations are being accepted until Friday, December 2, 2022. Non-perishable items can be dropped off in the bank lobby, located at 30 W. Utica St., Oswego, NY
