Obituaries

     Nellie T. Osetek, 92, a resident of Ellen St. Oswego, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at St. Luke Health Services.      Born in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Apolonia (Malez) Lupa.
     She worked as a nurse at the Oswego Hospital and later as a social worker nurse for Oswego County. She retired from Kingsford Park School working as a school nurse teacher.
     She was a member of St. Stephen's alter society, the P.L.A.V., and the quilting group. She enjoyed golf, ceramic and loved to travel.
     Surviving are three sons, John Osetek, of Providence, R.I., Anthony (Sue) Osetek, of Oswego; Paul (Patricia) Osetek, of Oswego; a daughter, Denise Osetek, of Oswego; two brothers, Joseph and Paul Lupa, both of Oswego; a sister, Bertha Kalafarski, of Fulton, ten grandchildren, Andrea Shortslef, Jamie Shortslef, Kristy Shortslef, Paul Osetek Jr., Meghan Osetek, Lisa Osetek Mazan, Christopher Osetek, Brian Osetek, Stephanie Osetek and Adam Osetek; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
     She was predeceased by her husband, John J. Osetek; two brothers, Peter and John Lupa; and her three sisters, Helen Cook, Mary Lupa and Sophie Coniski.
     Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, from St. Stephen's Church.
     Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum, St. Peter's Cemetery.
     Calling hours will be held privately.
