While the inaugural Galentine’s Day Brunch event is another few weeks away on Sunday, February 13, the deadline to purchase tickets looms close.

Tickets will only be sold online, and the website closes at the end of the day on Monday, January 31 (or sooner if the event reaches capacity). Tickets can be purchased at www.oswegounitedway.org and all proceeds from the event benefit United Way of Greater Oswego County (UWGOC) and the 29 partner programs it supports.

The planning committee has been busy gathering and creating baskets for the prize raffle (see photo), securing the VIP extras, crafting a delectable brunch menu and working with local musicians John McConnell and Cam Caruso. “We are so thankful that John and Cam are donating their considerable talents for our brunch,” says committee chair Sarah Ingerson. “There are so many fun things to do during the event or people can just relax and enjoy the tunes with their gals and pals.”

The brunch also offers a signature cocktail for purchase. The drink is sponsored by Oswego Speedway, is a berry concoction and aptly named “Get Your Heart Racing”. Committee member Jennifer Torrese revealed, “Offering a cocktail that goes along with the theme of the event and racing was something we wanted to present because $1 dollar from every drink sale goes directly to back to United Way, which helps improve lives for all in Oswego County.”

The event is made possible by support from many local businesses, including major sponsors Prosachik Law Firm, Novelis, and Richard S. Shineman Foundation, as well as banner sponsors Canale’s Insurance and Accounting, Menter Ambulance, and Leah’s Century 21 Real Estate. Flourish Beauty and Spa, located in Oswego, also donated a grand prize, valued at $800, that every guest will be entered to win.

The Galentine’s Day Brunch will be hosted at Curtis Manor on Sunday, February 13 from 10:30 – 1:30; the address is 10 Mark Fitzgibbons Drive, Oswego, NY. The $45 event ticket price includes 2 mimosa cocktails, assorted brunch staples, an exclusive boutique shopping experience with vendors, fun photo booth for making memories with your group, a basket raffle, door prizes and cash bar. The event also offers a VIP ticket experience (for an additional $15 fee) that adds special extras for attendees including oxygen bar sampling, aromatherapy hand massage, henna tattoos, and chocolate truffle gift. Interested vendors or sponsors may call United Way at 315-593-1900, option 2 for details and registration. To purchase tickets, visit www.oswegounitedway/galentines-day-brunch.
