One of Oswego County's most important companies plays a vital role in making sure that Oswego's Harborfest celebration is better every year.

Novelis' Oswego plant is not only the company's largest wholly owned facility in North America and the largest supplier of aluminum sheet to the auto industry in the world, it is key to the entertainment enjoyed by the huge crowds that come to Breitbeck Park every year for music, food and fun.

Novelis sponsors Breitbeck Park, the home of more than a dozen concerts and most of Harborfest's programming. In addition, the company creates and staffs the Novelis Activity Tent in the area of the park set aside to entertain and enlighten youngsters. Novelis employees and the company's signature mascot Can Man also take part in the annual Children's Parade that kicks off the annual festival.

"Novelis has been an amazing partner for so many years and we are very grateful for their enthusiastic support. They are a critical part of our community and it wouldn't be Harborfest without Novelis," said Dan Harrington, Harborfest Executive Director.

"Like many of our friends and neighbors, Novelis employees count down the days to Harborfest every summer," said Susan Cole, spokesperson for Novelis Oswego. "We are grateful for the opportunity to be in the park reminding families to recycle, sharing the benefits of aluminum and having fun at the same time." .

Harborfest returns July 25 - 28, 2024 with the food, music, fun and fireworks that has drawn families and friends together along the Lake Ontario shore to make unforgettable memories. The free-to-attend festival's signature event is its spectacular fireworks show over the lake while its stages feature top national and regional performers. The annual Harborfest Children's Parade, Friday, July 26 is one of many family-friendly events for young people to enjoy with their parents. Great food, exciting rides and games and interesting artwork, crafts and products round out a festival that has been a destination since 1988.
