In recognition of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, Oswego County Opportunities’ (OCO) Cancer Services Program and Northern Oswego County Health Services, Inc. (NOCHSI) recently joined forces to host “Papapalooza” at NOCHSI’s Mexico Health Center.

NOCHSI health providers volunteered their time to offer free PAP tests in recognition of National Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. “It was a great event,” said OCO Cancer Services Coordinator Carolyn Handville. “I’m very grateful for this collaboration. It’s a wonderful example of the concern that NOCHSI and OCO Cancer Services has for its patients. I would also like to acknowledge Tops Market and Stefano’s Pizzeria and Restaurant in Mexico for providing pizza and refreshments.”

NOCHSI operates health centers in Fulton, Mexico, Oswego, Parish, Phoenix, and Pulaski, and six school-based health centers located in the APW, Mexico, Pulaski and Sandy Creek School Districts. The health centers are family-oriented health care practices that provide Oswego, Northern Onondaga and Southern Jefferson County residents with a variety of comprehensive health care and related services. NOCHSI is accredited through The Joint Commission and is designated as a Level 2 Patient-Centered Medical Home. All major insurances are accepted, and a sliding fee scale discount program is available for eligible patients.
