Oswego County Opportunities Upcycled Art Auction is back!
Premiering last year as one of the highlights of OCO’s Giving Thanks Food and Beverage Pairing event, the Upcycled Art Auction features a variety of imaginative and intriguing pieces of art up for bid.
“Upcycling is a creative and sustainable way to transform items that might otherwise be discarded into beautiful and functional pieces,” explained OCO Development Coordinator Bridget Dolbear. “The concept of upcycling is symbolic of OCO’s focus on uncovering and showcasing the potential and value of all things and all people.”
Dolbear said that OCO is currently accepting donations for the Upcycled Art Auction and has already received several donations for this year’s auction.
“It’s amazing to see how creative people can be! We had a fascinating collection of artwork last year that drew a lot of interest and bidding from those at our Giving Thanks Food and Beverage Pairing event. Based on feedback we received and the current interest in donating pieces I anticipate having a larger selection of artwork to bid on this year.”
Proceeds from OCO’s Upcycled Art Auction will benefit the agency’s “There's No Place Like A Home” initiative which prioritizes the agency’s attention to being a lifeline to individuals and families by offering essential shelter, safety, and hope for individuals and families in need of a place to call home.
“We invite all artists, thrift shoppers, and creative minds to craft a unique piece for our Upcycled Art Auction,” added Dolbear. “Please donate you upcycled ‘treasure’ today and help make a difference in your community!”
OCO’s Upcycled Art Auction is part of this year’s Giving Thanks Food and Beverage Pairing. To be held November 1st at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center in Oswego, Giving Thanks brings together some of the area’s most popular restaurants and eateries offering samples of their favorite menu items paired with a beverage chose to perfectly complement each sample.
