Write a commentCanale’s Restaurant will be providing the next Salvation Army Guest Chef dinner on Tuesday, October 6, 4:30 to 6:30.
They will be serving ziti and meatballs, tossed salad with their house Italian dressing, and bread and butter. Desserts and beverages will be provided by members of the Advisory Board. The dinner will be at the Salvation Army Worship and Service Center, 73 West Second Street, in Oswego.
The Guest Chef dinners are organized by the Advisory Board and offered to the community to raise funds for support of the services of the Army throughout Oswego County. There is ample parking and the building is fully accessible.
Canale’s Restaurant has been operated in Oswego by the family since 1954, using recipes that originated four generations ago with Anna Canale in Morolo, Italy. They offer homemade authentic Italian cuisine, served in a traditional family dining atmosphere. Many of their specialties are also available in food stores and at a take-out facility in Liverpool.
The final Guest Chef Dinner for this year will be provided by Jimmie James BBQ on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3. The first dinner in 2016 will be provided by Rudy’s Lakeside Restaurant in early March.
The Oswego County Salvation Army Corps provides fresh-cooked meals five days each week in both Fulton and Oswego, groceries from its food pantries, and many other services to individuals and families in need throughout Oswego County. It also handles monthly Food $en$e groceries from the Food Bank of Central New York for anyone wishing to reduce food costs.
Planning is underway for this year’s Red Kettle Campaign. The need is to raise over $100,000. There will be opportunities for individuals and families, as well as organizations, businesses, and groups of all kinds to lend a hand. The kettles will be out from mid-November through Christmas Eve. Small counter-top kettles are available for business locations.
