"At the end of the day, in the semi-finals against Jamesville-DeWitt and in the last two sets, we played some inspired volleyball, Coach Ron Ahart said. "I was a little worried in set one of the championship when we fell behind quickly 10-0, but the team rallied in sets two and three and with a solid all around team effort won the championship of the Silver Bracket in a very tough tournament. Seniors Erica Atkins and Madison Collins both had good tournaments and the rest of the team all contributed in some way."
Golfers sweep four in a week

The Oswego High School boys golf team completed another undefeated week, making it two weeks in a row without a loss.

Alec Kunzwiler had his fourth under par nine of the season, shooting a one-under 34 at Brooklawn Golf Club in Syracuse. It was his third consecutive match score under par, a team record according to Coach Dan Rose.

"I've seen many under par nines in my seven years as head coach, but three in a row is pretty special," Rose said.

Joining Kunzwiler in the scoring column Friday were players Josh Dumas 39, Sam Oleyourryk 40, Eric Demidowicz 41, and Brandon Tracz 41.

Kunzwiler and the boys look to finish off the season Monday, Sept. 30, at home versus Liverpool. Depending on what happens around the league, Oswego may find themselves atop the CNYCL American League.

"We are just taking it one shot at a time," said Rose about the possibility of a league championship. "We'll see how the chips fall Monday."

The Bucs have now moved their record to an improbable 11-5 after starting the season 3-5.
Oswego will compete in the Sectional Championship Wednesday, Oct. 2, at The Links at Sunset Ridge in Marcellus.
