Onylee Elizabeth Gratzer, 96, a resident of the Manor at Seneca Hill (and formerly of Greece, N.Y.) passed away very peacefully Saturday, June 1, 2013, surrounded by her loving family and caring staff at the Manor.
She would have celebrated her 97th birthday, June 26.
Onylee was born in Rochester, a daughter of the late Curtis and Irene (Rood) Davis on June 26, 1916.
Onylee's life was devoted entirely and unselfishly to her family as homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her loving family: two daughters; Paula (Paul) Guido, of Oswego, and Pamela Gratzer, of Fairport; one son; Mark (Susan) Gratzer, of Annapolis, Md.; two grandchildren, Jason (Alison) Guido, of Liverpool, and Tami (Michael) Palmitesso, of Oswego; and four great-grandchildren whom she adored so very much, Mischa and Tanner Palmitesso and Ella and Ryan Guido. They affectionately referred to her as "GiGi" (Great Grandma).
Onylee was predeceased by her high-school sweetheart and husband, Frank J. Gratzer, to whom she was married for more than 69 years; her two sisters, Grace VanLeer and Lois (Britton) DeWaters; and brother Gordon (Bud) Davis.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Nelson Funeral Home.
The family will honor Onylee during a Memorial Service at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 9, in the Greece United Methodist Church, 1924 Maiden Lane, Rochester, NY 14626.
