Oswego Industries held an open house on Thursday at their Morrill Place facility in Fulton.
“The open house gives us an opportunity to show the community what we do here,” said Tammy Slayton, Senior VP of Administration. “It also gives us the chance to introduce our new President and Chief Operating Officer Allen Connely to the community as well.”
Connely, who is also the CEO of Mozaic, an organization which provides services to the developmentally disabled in the Finger Lakes region, brings a career’s worth of experience to his position.
Staff members led group tours of the Oswego Industries facility where training and employment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities takes place. The Textiles Department produces scrub garments and hospital gowns under contract, and other departments are currently involved in packing and shipping decorative candles, belts for the Transportation Safety Administration and other contracted services.
The tour also included stops at the company’s employment services office as well as visits to the Respite, Senior Services, Community Hab and Day Hab areas.
Oswego Industries’ motto is Abilities Define Us. The services they provide are designed to improve the quality of life for all people by providing the necessary support programs to allow these individuals to grow with dignity and achieve their highest level of independence and fulfillment.
