Steve Phillips gave the sixth year opening speech at the 2019 Oswego Renaissance Associations Awards, Saturday night held at the American Foundry.
More than 2.5 million dollars of private investment (through 2018) has been leveraged into Oswego's Renaissance Block neighborhoods over the last five years. Hundreds of homes have been painted, planted and improved since 2013.
"There were 14 Block Challenge grant awards this year as well as 11 Neighborhood Pride Grant awards. (Block Challenge grants are the matching grants for individual homeowners improvements, and Pride Grants are smaller grants to make street-wide improvements like tree plantings, curb gardens, landscaping, neighborhood signage etc." saud Paul Stewart, founding member of the ORA.
