Driving Books Home, Oswego's Bookmobile, thanks Master Pryor’s Taekwondo, Universal Metalworks, and Gear Rippers RC for their efforts in support of Oswego Bookmobile, making possible this year's summer program of giving free books and healthy snacks to children in Oswego City School District neighborhoods.

Gear Rippers RC, led by Tom Ingison, President; Josh Carter, Vice President; Fran Elkin, SGT at Arms; Christine Elkin, Treasurer; and Dawn McQuown, Secretary, invited Oswego Bookmobile to be the beneficiary of their first annual Bike Blessing in May and raised $200 for the program.

Universal Metalworks, a leading metal fabrication facility in Fulton, donated parts and labor to restore the Bookmobile vehicle's battery box that had deteriorated to a point where it was no longer viable.

In May, Master Pryor’s Taekwondo hosted a Break-A-Thon, raising over $2,200 to donate to the Bookmobile. Boards valued at $600 used for the Break-A-Thon were also donated.

Oswego Bookmobile appreciates the efforts of these local organizations in support of the Bookmobile's mission to help children avoid regressing in their reading skills during the summer.

Oswego Bookmobile is a 501c3 non profit corporation, managed by a volunteer Board of Directors.  Oswego Bookmobile partners with Oswego City School District, SUNY Oswego, Oswego Public Library, and Little Lukes to provide a free, mobile, summer reading program to children in Oswego.  The Board of Directors welcomes discussion of new partnership opportunities that are intended to increase the long term sustainability of the organization and reinforce it’s mission.
