A successful Oswego High School Homecoming Weekend saw the varsity football team defeat the Fulton Red Raiders in double overtime.

A four touchdown day by Alex Makin combined with late game heroics of a goal line stand by the Oswego varsity football team defense proved the difference in the Bucs 26-19 overtime win against Fulton Saturday, Sept. 28.
Homecoming weekend was a celebration for Oswego in an evenly-matched, very intense high school football game.
In overtime, Makin ran it in from four yards out and Ryan Lavner kicked his second consecutive successful point after touchdown to give the Bucs the seven point lead. The run was set up by a big run by Zach Crisafulli.
Fulton had its turn and stayed on the ground. On a third and three, Trey Love hit Keyshon Carver for a loss and a fourth down pass went high and out of bounds for the Raiders.
The end of regulation was wild as Makin had scored on a 33 yard run as he got an extra point from Lavner. It was 19-19, but Fulton had plenty of time to win this one.
With just over 80 seconds to go in regulation, Fulton had the ball. Raider running back Mark Pollack was apparently headed for the end zone when Justin Canale caught him and tackled him at the six-yard line. Jake Rodriguez took down the Fulton quarterback Cody Green for a loss and Garrett Dunsmoor caught Carver behind the line of scrimmage for a two-yard loss.
It was an offensive explosion in the first 12 minutes of the game as Fulton held a 13-12 lead after one quarter of play.
On the opening possession, Green ran it in from the one and Jon Cummins had the point after. However, Oswego came right back with a seven-yard touchdown run by Makin. Fulton went back on top as Quintan Jackson took a Green pass 24 yards to the end zone and the PAT was blocked for a 13-6 Fulton lead. As the quarter wound down, Makin had his second of the day from five yards out.
The teams went to halftime with Fulton maintaining the 13-12 lead.
In the third, Fulton began to open it up with a Green to Jones eight yard scoring strike and it was 19-12. Makin from 33 yards cut the deficit to 19-18, but Lavner powered a kick through the uprights for a 19-19 count after three quarters.
Makin finished the game with 212 yards on 27 carries.
