Write a commentThe Oswego City School District Board of Education, after an extensive search, has selected two finalists as candidates for the soon to be vacated Superintendent of Schools position.
District Superintendent Christopher Todd has assisted the Oswego Board of Education in its efforts to replace retiring Superintendent of Schools William Crist.
Several potential candidates' submitted completed applications, the board interviewed five persons and the two finalists will be in the Oswego City School District this week for further interviews. The candidates will meet with the Stakeholders Committee, Tuesday, April 23.
The two finalists are Daniel Bowles and Robert "Bob" Farrell.
Daniel D. Bowles
Bowles is currently the associate superintendent for reaching and learning for the North Syracuse Central School District. He has served in this position for the past eight months and has served in other capacities within the district such as director of elementary and English Language Arts; principal, Roxboro Road Elementary School; and acting director of elementary education and associate principal, Gillette Road Middle School. Bowles began his career as a Junior High School Guidance Counselor in the Utica City School District. Bowles received a bachelor of arts in Ssociology and a masters in education in counseling and human development from St. Lawrence University, and a certificate of advanced study in Eeducational Aadministration from the State University of New York at Cortland.
Robert L. Farrell
Farrell is currently the chief information officer for the Owego Apalachin Central School District. He has served in this position for the past six years. Prior to his position at Owego Apalachin, Farrell served as a computer technology teacher and then the director of technology at the Livingston Manor Central School District. Prior to beginning his career in education, he served as the 1099/1042 Tax Team Lead at IBM Corp. Farrell received a bachelor of science in accounting from Oswego State University; a masters of business administration from Binghamton University and a certificate of advanced study in school district administration from the State University of New York at Cortland.
