Write a commentPlans are underway for one of the area's premier fundraising events, the Oswego Christian Community School's 8th Annual Auction. Scheduled for Saturday, April 25th, the Oswego Community Christian School's 8th Annual Auction will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Oswego Elks Lodge #271, corner of West Fifth and Bridge Streets in Oswego. The event, which serves as the school's largest fundraiser, will feature a Silent Auction and a Live Auction, as well as a bake sale and the Elks famous Chicken B-B-Q.
Planning Committee Chairperson, Tonia McDonald is looking forward to what has proven to be one of Oswego's most popular community events. "It's inspiring to see the support we received for our auction. Interest in the auction remains high and we're working to make this year's the best ever," said McDonald.
According to McDonald the planning committee has already received a number of excellent items from caring businesses and individuals. "We're excited about the donations we have received to date and anticipate having a wide array of items for both our silent and live auctions that will be of interest to those of all ages," said McDonald.
Some of the many items that will be up available to bid on include: gym memberships, hotel overnight stays, theme & sporting event tickets, tools, restaurant & department store gift cards. McDonald anticipates that there will be approximately $25,000 worth of new merchandise and services to bid on. Bidders may view a sampling of items available on auction day on the school's Facebook page, which is being updated daily as new items arrive.
A Silent Auction will take place from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. followed by a Live Auction, with Auctioneer, Jim Deacons from Cross Roads Auctions from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. "There's nothing like being in the moment of a live auction. It's fun, it's exciting, it's a competition to see who the winning bidder will be and until the auctioneer announces "Sold!" the thrill of it is exhilarating for all who attend," said Deacons.
The Oswego Community Christian School's Annual Auction The event will also include the school's much anticipated annual Prize Drawing. For a donation of $10 individuals will have the opportunity to win one of three great prizes including: Disney Vacation for Family of 4, iPad Air and $250 Visa card. A limited number of tickets will available for these prize drawings.
All proceeds from this event will be used for the continued improvement of the quality of education offered to the students at OCCS.
