Oswego County Clerk Michael C. Backus encourages the public to continue utilizing DMV services in Oswego County through the U.S. Postal Service or by dropping off materials at a local DMV office.

The Fulton, Oswego, and Pulaski DMV offices can process the following documents through the mail or by drop box:

  • Plate surrenders - $1 attached to plate dropped in box outside DMV office
  • All registration renewals
  • Trailer and agricultural renewals expiring by 12/31/19; call for correct fee.
  • Standard license renewals with MV-619 or electronic eye test on file.
  • Driver’s license abstracts by phone call/
  • Registration duplicates.
  • Title duplicates.

“All the above DMV work can be done either by dropping off materials in a DMV drop box located outside each facility or through the postal service,” said Oswego County Clerk Michael C. Backus. “Customers are strongly advised to include their name and contact phone number with materials.”

Each office will be staffed by Oswego County DMV employees on a rotating basis to process the above transactions and answer phone calls. DMV offices are located at:

  • Oswego DMV: 384 E. River Road, Oswego, NY 13126; phone 315-349-8300.
  • Fulton DMV: 200 N. Second St., Fulton, NY 13069; phone 315-591-9136.
  • Pulaski DMV: 2 Broad St., Pulaski, NY 13142; phone 315-298-6521.

“It is important that the public know that essential government functions are still taking place,” said Backus. “The Oswego County DMVs, in accordance with Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Executive Order canceling all DMV appointments across New York State, are currently closed to the public. As soon as practicable the offices will reopen; however, that decision is in the hands of the Governor and the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles. I do thank the Governor for extending certain expiration dates of registrations and licenses to alleviate pressure on DMVs during this Executive Order and time of uncertainty. I strongly encourage the public to adhere to the advice of so many and remain home as much as possible. If you feel that you must send in or drop off DMV work, please call one of our offices first. We may advise you to simply wait as your transaction may not be timely. Only urgent DMV business should be submitted either through the mail or using our drop box service.”
