Oswego County Habitat for Humanity has been awarded $55,000 from the Richard S. Shineman Foundation during their most recent funding cycle to enhance its mission to provide stable and affordable housing to very low income qualified families at a low cost within Oswego County.
The grant will allow the agency to hire an executive director to support the board in its efforts to renovate or build houses with the help of community volunteers for and with eligible families.
"We are very grateful to have received this award as we have worked very hard during the last few years to rebuild the organization", said Debra Geroux, OCHFH President. "We have a great leadership team who is looking forward to working with a new executive director to put the agency into a better position to fulfill its mission.”
Oswego County Habitat is interested in hearing from families who wish to become homeowners and fall within the income guidelines set by Habitat International. We would also encourage any community members who would like to become involved as volunteers to contact us at: info@OswegoCountyHFH.org
