Oswego County Hospice continues to participate in the 'We Honor Veterans' program established by Veterans Affairs and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO).
The NHPCO is committed to delivering quality hospice care to the men and women who have served and fought for our country.
Oswego County Hospice has expanded the program by recognizing the hospice veteran and spouse with a recognition and pinning ceremony.
“The appreciation is one aspect of the program that has a direct effect on our veterans. Frequently we see the certificates placed with the deceased veteran in front and center of memorabilia that is displayed,” said Betty Dunsmoor, Hospice Volunteer Coordinator.
Mike Leduc, a Navy Veteran, said “Not only is Hospice honoring its veterans, it is an honor to be a veteran honoring veterans. These recognition ceremonies are allowing me to give back to my fellow veterans, while at the same time gaining an amazing gift from each of them.”
