Now is your chance to tell the Oswego County Health Department and Emergency Management Office how you get weather alerts and rate their usefulness.
Go to the Oswego County Health Department’s website to complete the survey. It takes about 15 minutes and will be available until May 2.
“An extreme weather event is an unusually severe weather occurrence or climate condition that can cause devastating impacts on our community,” said Oswego County Emergency Management Coordinator Tyler Peet. “After the big snowstorm in February, we want to know how we can do a better job of letting people know about weather emergencies.”
The Weather Alerts Community survey is a complete evaluation of how people receive severe weather alerts and if they understand the risks. Their answers will help Oswego County improve how it shares important weather updates and safety tips.
All responses are anonymous and no personally identifiable information is collected without participants’ knowledge and consent. People interested in taking the survey must be aged 18 or older and be a current resident of Oswego County.
“Thank you to everyone who takes the time to fill out our survey,” said Peet. “Please encourage your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to do the same. The more responses we get, the better we can prepare for the next emergency.”
As a ‘thank you’ for participating in the survey, the first 100 people who complete it can choose to be entered for a chance to win a free solar/crank-powered radio.
