Dozens of community members joined the Oswego County Traffic Safety Board Thursday, October 26th at the Oswego YMCA Armory to celebrate the contributions made to the citizens of Oswego County.
Five law enforcement officers were recognized for their individual accomplishments over the last year by their supervisors and the Oswego County Traffic Safety Board. Award recipients need to have given out the most tickets or arrests in their division as well as going above and beyond to provide community services such as community events, child safety seat checks, community outreach and general enthusiasm for their jobs.
The award recipients are:
New York State Police Trooper Justin Morrison
Oswego County Sheriff Deputy Joe Taylor
Oswego County Sheriff Deputy Kristy Crast
Fulton City Police Department Officer Thomas Pappa
Oswego City Police Department Officer Chelsea Giovo
A special award was given in memory of former Oswego County Traffic Safety Board Coordinator, Billie Crandall Brady by her husband Dennis Brady. The Billie Crandall Brady award was given to STOP-DWI Coordinator, Robert Lighthall, who has been an instrumental advocate for the Traffic Safety Program and for traffic safety in the county. The Billie Crandall Brady Award is given to community members who personify the drive and passion that Billie had to educate and advocate for traffic safety.
