The Oswego Elks lodge recently presented a donation to Leadership Oswego County's (LOC) Supporting Our Seniors (SOS) campaign.
Since 1897, the Oswego Lodge of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) has been an active part of the Oswego community; providing assistance to those less fortunate, veterans, youth, and those with disabilities.
"Since our inception, we have provided well over $100,000 to various community programs as well as providing thousands of volunteer hours for numerous events," said Eric Cronk, past exalted ruler of BPOE. "We are proud to be able to work with the Leadership Oswego County class of 2013 on this project, and look forward to more collaboration in the future."
"We are thankful for the contribution given by the Elks Club," said Chena Tucker from the Office of Business and Community Relations at SUNY Oswego. "Their donation gave us the ability to scale up our project and we hope to provide the Supporting our Seniors gift bags to more than 700 seniors within our county. And because it was the 20th anniversary of Leadership Oswego County, we hoped to do something really special for our community."
LOC Class of 2013 is "Supporting Our Seniors" and connecting Oswego County Communities by collecting donations and assembling gift bags for selected senior living facilities in Oswego County.
