Benjamin Halsey was officially appointed as the new Oswego City School District Superintendent of Schools at a special board of education meeting.
The board met in special session on Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the Education Center Curriculum Room to vote on a resolution to appoint Halsey as the new district educational leader with duties commencing on Monday, Dec. 2.
The appointment was approved 7-0.
Halsey noted that there are several extremely qualified educational leaders who had expressed interest in the Oswego position. He said, "This is a great honor" and was grateful for the opportunity to serve as Oswego school superintendent.
