Oswego High School indoor track commences

     The Oswego boys' indoor track team opened its 2012-13 season with a strong performance at the Jack Morse Holiday Relays.

     Leading the Bucs were senior Cory Keefe and freshmen Tom Donohue, who combined for a fine time of 14.20 in the 2 x 55 meter relay, to place fifth. Keefe's time of 6.69 in the relay, earned him second place overall in the field. Oswego turned in a fine performance in the sprint medley relay, behind the      efforts of Sean Benjamin, Nate Greene, Jim Darling, and Ben Harrington, to place second in their section (4:15.9) and also combined to earn second place in their section of the 4 x 200 meter relay (1:47.1).
     The middle distance foursome of Kyle Kemper, Benedikt Kraemer, Adam Flack, and Paul Oleyourryk, ran a strong early season time of 10:39.7 in the 4 x 800 meter relay, to finish seventh in their section, and also combined for a fine time of 13:37.4 in the distance medley relay.
     Earning personal bests for the Bucs were Kyle Kemper in the 800 and 1200 meter runs, Paul Oleyourryk in the 800 and 1600 meter run, Sean Benjamin in the 200 meter dash, and Ben Harrington in the 200 meter dash.
     Freshmen Sean Clary turned in a strong effort in the shot put for Oswego.
     "I am very pleased with our team's performance," Coach Jim McCaul said. "Our returning athletes are starting off where they finished last year and our new young runners, eighth grader Nate Greene, and freshmen Jim Darling and Tom Donohue, did a terrific job in their first meet."
     Oswego will return to action 4:30 p.m., Wednesday Dec. 19, returning to the SRC Arena on the campus of Onondaga Community College, for the John Arcaro Memorial Invitational.
