Oswego Industries, a non-profit that empowers people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, held a first-of-its-kind event for our area at the River Vista Center last night: a Casino Night Fundraiser.

The non-profit booked certified dealers from 21 Entertainment of Albany to run the pit, which included blackjack, craps, roulette, and poker. The atmosphere remained lively throughout the evening, with cheers frequently erupting from different corners of the pit.

River Vista Center offered a cash bar and served finger foods throughout the evening, with appetizers like raspberry brie pastries and fresh fruit and veggies. Live music was provided by Joe Cortini and the Jazz Mafia.

Participants were able to cash in their winnings for raffle tickets to enter the event's silent auction. The many raffles held incredible finds, like a Weber grill, dinner for four prepared by a private chef, and a necklace donated by JP Jewelers. Other raffle items included books donated by river's end bookstore in Oswego, gift cards to local restaurants, and a dremel and reciprocating saw donated by Northern Ace Hardware.

The event also included a 50/50, which ended the night at over $1,000 total.

Throughout the evening, event attendees remarked on how unique and fun the event was - we at iHeart Oswego certainly hope this fundraiser is one that's here to stay!
