Recently, the Oswego jayvee girls basketball team capped off a fundraiser for Makayla Walker, front center, a sixth-grade student at Oswego's Fitzhugh Park Elementary School.

Money raised will go toward medical expenses for Makayla, who is battling cancer. Coach Jessica Burridge said that the players got pledges or flat donations based on how many free throws they could make out of 100 shots. Burridge said that more than $200 has already been raised, with more donations coming in.
