"When the curtain comes down on the Oswego Players' "It's a Wonderful Life" next Sunday, Dec. 16, there are many people deserving thank you accolades," a spokesperson for the theater group said.
"The director, Troy Pepper, and the cast and crew all worked hard to bring this great Christmas show together. Members of several families made commitments to the "energy" needed to bring this beloved story to the stage.
However, the unseen support needs to be noted, the spokesperson added. Without a grant from Constellation Energy, this event might not have occurred at all. Constellation has been very supportive in the past, and in these tough times, the Players often have problems scraping up enough funds to mount the last production of the year.
Constellation Energy awarded a grant for the show to offset the expenses and make this classic happen. All members of the Oswego Players are indeed grateful to Constellation Energy for their support and commitment to the oldest all-volunteer amateur theater group in the United States.
Final performances will take place on the Frances Marion Brown theater stage in the Oswego Civic Arts Center, Fort Ontario Complex at 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Dec. 14 and 15, with a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee, Dec. 16. Tickets are $10/adults, $8/seniors and $7/students. Reservations are recommended and available at the Players' box office at 315-343-5138.
