The Oswego Renaissance Association released its promotional video, “Building Blocks Together” that showcases its success of renovating homes around Oswego.

The video, which clocks in at 12 minutes and 29 seconds, features homeowners who have actively participated in ORA’s mission to beautify Oswego.

“When we found out about the grant, we knew we had to get at least five neighbors involved,” Cindy Pauldine, ORA block leader at West Fifth and Seneca Streets said. “We had to get a community of neighbors. We felt it was a strong enough neighborhood, it was important enough to get together and revitalize our neighborhood.”

“Our original thought was just to redo our side door,” Lisa DuFore, ORA block grant participant on West Fifth Street said. “Then all of a sudden the opportunity came up to do our driveway. We’re just thrilled to be a part of this project.”

Along with the positive testimonials of the homeowners is a positive message from SUNY Oswego President Deborah Stanley.

“You know, we partner with the community, but we are the community,” Stanley said. “Our faculty, our staff, our students live in the community. They see themselves as community members. We are one community, all working for the betterment of the area.”

The video is featured on ORA’s official Facebook page.
