There is a vacant seat on the Oswego City School District Board of Education and Tuesday night it was decided to fill that position.

During the Aug. 13 regular meeting of the board of education the board members discussed filling the seat left vacant with the resignation of James Tschudy.
The members of the board will consider all applicants for the position.
Letters of interest and a resume should be sent to Bill Foley, district clerk, Education Center, 120 E. First Street in Oswego, N.Y 13126 by Tuesday, Aug. 27.
The board will review all applicants and then determine who will fill the seat.
In a small city school district the boards of education may elect to do one of three things if a seat becomes vacant. The board can fill the seat though the application process, leave the seat vacant or conduct a special election.
The term the board is attempting to fill is a one-year term which expires on June 30, 2014.
Anyone seeking further information can contact cistrict clerk Foley atwfoley@oswego.org or 341-2020.
