     The Oswego varsity basketball teams had a tough time with Nottingham on Tuesday night.

     The Lady Bucs lost at home 49-24 while the boys fell 58-57 in the Bulldogs house.
     At Powers Gym in Oswego the Lady Bucs got off to a slow start and trailed 14-1 late in the first quarter before hitting a three pointer to send it into the second 14-4.
     The teams played relatively close in the second and at the half Nottingham was ahead 23-14.
     Throughout the third quarter the Bucs were able to keep the deficit in single digits. However, late in the quarter the visitors got the upper hand and moved to a 38-18 advantage.
     In the fourth the stifling Nottingham defense simply proved to be too much for the Bucs to handle.
     Marguerite Dillon finished with 11 points and was the lone Buc in double figures. Emily Heagerty scored five, Marisa Dashner four, McKenna Brooks three and Rachael Purtell one point. Pacing Nottingham were Chyanna Canada and Janaysia Torrence with 15 and 13 respectively.
Buc boys lose third
     Oswego fell to 6-3 overall on the year in a one point loss to Nottingham.
     At halftime, the Bucs held a 23-17 lead, but Nottingham fought back and with eight minutes remaining trailed the visitors 35-34.
     In the last quarter the offenses exploded with the Bulldogs scoring 24 points and Oswego 22 in a wide open eight minutes of basketball.
     From the field the Bucs held a slight advantage, but the game was decided at the foul line as the home team sank 14 from the charity stripe while the Bucs were successful on nine free throws.
      In the end, Ryan Lavner scored 17, Dustin Sands 15 and Dylan Lavner 10 while Zach Gillard added nine, Josh Gillard four and Trevor Martin two points.
     Tyquan Rolon had 17 for the winning team while Henry Sullivan added 11 and Jaquan Adams 10 points.
Jayvee girls win
     The Oswego jayvee girls' basketball team continues on its winning ways with a pair of recent victories.
     The Bucs scored a 64-33 win over Nottingham at Powers Gym on Tuesday night.
     Oswego dominated the game having double digits in every quarter.
     All 10 players were involved in the game and contributed to help with the victory as nine of them scored.
     The leading scorers for the Bucs' were Cassidy King with 13 points and four steals. Julia Lavery and Siara Wilson both had 10 points. Kelly Skinner added nine points and an impressive 11 rebounds.
     The Bucs' are now 11-1.
     In the previous game the Bucs scored a 51-36 win over Corcoran.
     "Oswego started out slow to start the game," coach Jessica Burridge said. "We were unable to get into a rhythm with foul troubles. Starting the second half they were able to regroup and take over the game like that have so many times already this year."
     Leading scorers for the Bucs' were Claire Richardson with 19, Kelly Skinner with eight, and Olivia Dowdle and Brianna Stenz both with six points.
