A family fun 2K costume parade, Halloween Happenings at the YMCA and a chance to walk with the undead are on the list of events to mark the 3rd annual Zombie Crawl to be held Oct. 25.
It all begins at 5:45 p.m. with a family costume parade around the bridges. At 6 p.m., the doors open for Halloween Happenings at the YMCA, 265 W. First St., which includes a haunted basement, air hop, face painting, music and food. Entry is only $1 or a canned good to donate to Human Concerns Center.
At 7:45 p.m., all zombies and the zombie hunters will rendezvous in front of the Oswego YMCA Armory, where the rules will be read off. Participants are asked to come already in creepy costume and ready for the crawl.
Want to learn how to make yourself into the goriest, most ghastly zombie on the crawl? Learn the tricks of the trade from Lisa Ellingwood at the Oswego YMCA Armory at 3 p.m., Oct. 20. Ellingwood is volunteering her time and the cost is only $6, with all proceeds going to the YMCA. Here is what you will need to bring with you: black white and green face paint; one roll of toilet paper, fake blood, either a makeup brush or Q-tips, Elmer's glue spurt gum or liquid latex, red eye shadow (optional, black liquid eyeliner and special effects contacts, gray or white if buying), a spray bottle of water, wash cloth and a hand held mirror.
At 8 p.m., all zombies and zombie hunters will leave the Armory, shuffling and lurching to Bridge Street. Any zombie who wants to leave the pack to invade the Oswego Cinema 7 to watch "Carrie" (rate R) or "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2" (rate PG), should tell them when you go in that you are with the Zombie Crawl and you will receive a free popcorn.
Shamble into Greene's Ale House and Grille at 8:15p.m. to watch "Zombieland," "Attack of The Killer Tomatoes" and "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." The kitchen will be open for anyone wanting to order off of the menu.
