Pat Lavery Tops Supermodified Testing with 16.3 Second Circuit

Move over Otto Sitterly.  Pat Lavery is now the fastest Novelis Supermodified driver in Oswego Speedway’s preseason testing after cutting a lap of 16.336 seconds driving his Graham Racing machine on Thursday evening.

Lavery was the fastest of three Supermodifieds to take laps on Thursday including 2015 Supermodified Rookie of the Year Aric Iosue and former Mr. Supermodified champion Kody Graham.

Lavery’s ride will take to the Speedway on Saturday as No. 12, however in a display of gamesmanship; Lavery drove the machine on Thursday displaying XXXX.

Sitterly set the fastest lap of the Speedway’s open practice last Saturday driving as xXx, going 16.549 seconds.

Iosue set the second fastest lap of Thursday’s test session, running a circuit of 16.673 seconds, while Graham managed a 16.944 second lap.

Graham was piloting his all-new No. 21 machine for the first time on Thursday.

One more preseason test session is planned for Fast Friday running from 4-8 p.m.

Kids 16 and under will again be admitted free at all Speedway events in 2016 with the exception of Budweiser International Classic Weekend and Race of Champions Weekend.

Racing action at the Speedway begins on Saturday, May 14 featuring the Speedway’s 66th consecutive opening night presented by Mitchell’s Speedway Press and highlighted by the Race of Champions Modified Richie Evans Memorial 61 as well as kick-off events for the Novelis Supermodifieds and Pathfinder Bank SBS.
