Write a commentPaul D. "Bud" Murray, 69, a resident of Co Rt. 89, Oswego, passed away Monday, July 9, 2013, at Crouse Hospital.
Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late Paul P. and Helen (Rose) Murray.
He was a graduate of Oswego High School and received his associate degree at Onondaga Community College.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving from 1961-1968.
Bud was employed many years with Verizon Telephone.
He was a guitar player in many area bands, an amateur radio operator, "N2BCQ," a classic car owner (member of the Country Cruzers), and enjoyed fly fishing. Bud was a past member of the Oswego Elks 271.
Surviving is his wife, Janet (Wilshire) Murray; a daughter, Brenda Murray, of Georgia; two sons, Brian (Melissa) Murray, of Georgia, and John (Angie) Murray, of North Carolina; three sisters, MaryAnn (Fred) Bailey, of Florida, Shirley (Donald) Wallace, of Georgia, and Judy (Victor) Darrow, of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Kylie, Shea, Wynn, Evan and Audrey Murray; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 9 a.m., Saturday, July 13, from St. Mary's Church.
Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
