     Paul F. "Butch" Somers, 72, a resident of Co Rt. 53, Oswego, passed away at home, Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 surrounded by his family.

     Born in Oswego Town, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary (Barker) Somers.
     He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
     He was employed at Alcan for more than 30 years.
     He was a member of the Oswego Elks and American Legion.
     Butch enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He played fast pitch softball and was a member of its Hall of Fame.
     He is survive by his wife, Kathryn (Flack) Somers; a son, Scott Somers, of Oswego; two daughters, Shelley (Wallace) Love, of Oswego and Stacey (David) Sgarlata, of Webster; four brothers, William (Terri) Somers and Worden (Pat) Somers, both of Fulton; Richard (Donna) Somers, and Tim (Sandra) Somers, both of Oswego; nine sisters, Margaret Griffin, Marjorie Glerum and Patricia (Olin) Pritchard, all of Oswego Town, Helen Kelley and Lillian Meeker, both of North Carolina, Irene (Al) Pritchard and Virginia (Bob) Flack, both of Sterling, Jane Kingsley, of Oswego, and Sandra Fox, of Fulton; four grandchildren, Austin Somers, Jonathan, Tim and Paul Love; and several nieces and nephews.
     He was predeceased by his siblings, Leo and Carl Somers and Violet Pritchard.
     Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Nelson Funeral Home.
     Calling hours will be held 2-7 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
     In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Butch's name to Friends of Oswego County Hospice, PO Box 102, Oswego; or a charity of one's choice.
