Kim Manoni, president of Paws Across Oswego, was the guest speaker for the Oswego Association of Business and Professional Women (OABPW) during the Oct. 15 meeting at Vona's Restaurant ,in Oswego.

She spoke of the non-profit that tends to the needs of animals needing placement in their forever homes. Manoni herself adopted two rescue dogs from the facility on county Route 1, in Oswego.

She discussed fundraising efforts made to benefit Paws Across Oswego County and invited the group to come visit Paws & Effect Inc.and their thrift store, which is held from 1-7 p.m. the second Thursday and Friday of the month and from 12-5 p.m., Saturdays. She told the group of their upcoming fundraiser Nov. 24, an all-day holiday craft show that will include light refreshments and local vendors. She encouraged the group to shop for holiday gifts and to help animals at the same time.

The OABPW meetings are held at 6 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at Vona's with the exception of July and August. The Oswego Association of Business and Professional Women membership includes working women and retirees. We support local groups and organizations and are currently working on our Thanksgiving donation to the Human Concerns Food Pantry that benefits Oswego's residents.
Any woman interested in joining this group of women may contact Pat Cole, membership committee, at 342-2455.
