Raymond J. Harvey, 71, of Oswego, died April 26, 2019 at Pontiac Care and Rehab.
Born in Syracuse, he was the son of the late Raymond H. and Gladys (Henderson) Harvey.
He was a volunteer Fireman in New Jersey before moving to Florida where he lived for 22 years. He worked in Traffic Control for the city of Titusville. Later, he and his family moved back to New York in 2001.
Ray loved carpentry and woodworking. He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed fishing. He also loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Betty (Stevenson) Harvey; a daughter Jessica (Zachary) Jackson of Oswego; a son Benjamin Harvey of Oswego; three brothers, Dale, Brian and Jeff Harvey; four sisters, Melinda Ladd, Carolyn Brinkmeier, Phyllis Williams and Sherry Browning; three grandchildren, Ryan, Kaitlyn and Zachary; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son Joseph Brian Harvey (1987) and an infant brother who died before birth.
Calling hours will be held 3-6 PM, Wednesday May 1st, with a service to follow, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
